class=\"su-tabs-pane su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" data-title=\"Histoire\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Issue du crayon de Anatole Lapine, un designer letton, la 944 fut pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en 1981 au Salon automobile de Francfort.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La 944 reprend les lignes de la 924, en les extrapolant. La 924 poss\u00e8de un bas-moteur audi (d&rsquo;o\u00f9 le prix plus abordable), et la 944 remplacera progressivement au catalogue sa devanci\u00e8re. La 924 sera en effet produite jusqu&rsquo;en 1988, les derni\u00e8res s\u00e9ries (924S) int\u00e9grant m\u00eame le moteur de la 944, l\u00e9g\u00e8rement \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9gonfl\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb pour la circonstance (150 puis 160cv en 1988).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Au niveau esth\u00e9tique, elle reprend les caract\u00e9ristiques de la 924, ses ailes renfl\u00e9es rappellent celles de la 924 Carrera GT.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">C\u00f4t\u00e9 technique, tout comme sa petite et sa grande s\u0153ur (la 924 et la 928), elle dispose de la transmission \u00ab\u00a0Transaxle\u00a0\u00bb (Le moteur situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant de la voiture est reli\u00e9 \u00e0 la bo\u00eete de vitesses log\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re par le<i>transaxle<\/i>. Cette r\u00e9partition des \u00e9l\u00e9ments m\u00e9caniques permettent d&rsquo;obtenir une r\u00e9partition des masses proche de 51\/49 entre l&rsquo;avant et l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re, et d&rsquo;avoir ainsi un ch\u00e2ssis parfaitement \u00e9quilibr\u00e9). Ce ch\u00e2ssis est directement d\u00e9riv\u00e9 de celui de la 924, il est notamment am\u00e9lior\u00e9 au niveau des suspensions et du syst\u00e8me de freins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour la motorisation, on trouve sous le capot un 4 cylindres 100\u00a0% Porsche. C&rsquo;est en fait un demi moteur de 928\u00a0: en effet, son inclinaison est due au fait que le V8 de la 928 a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0coup\u00e9 en 2\u00a0\u00bb. Pour les derni\u00e8res \u00e9volutions de ce 4 cylindres, la cylindr\u00e9e passera des <span class=\"nowrap\">2,5\u00a0litres<\/span> d&rsquo;origine \u00e0 <span class=\"nowrap\">2,7\u00a0litres<\/span> puis \u00e0 <span class=\"nowrap\">3,0\u00a0litres<\/span> (sur les mod\u00e8les 944 S2, et sur la 968). \u00c0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque, avec 3 litres de cylindr\u00e9e, il s&rsquo;agissait du plus gros 4 cylindres essence mont\u00e9 en s\u00e9rie, toutes marques confondues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans la 944 de 1981, ce moteur atmosph\u00e9rique, d&rsquo;une cylindr\u00e9e de <span class=\"nowrap\">2,5\u00a0litres<\/span> dot\u00e9 d&rsquo;une culasse \u00e0 8 soupapes, d\u00e9veloppe une puissance de <span class=\"nowrap\">163\u00a0chevaux<\/span>. Il conna\u00eetra plusieurs \u00e9volutions (en passant par une version de <span class=\"nowrap\">2,7\u00a0litres<\/span>) jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 atteindre une cylindr\u00e9e de<span class=\"nowrap\">3,0\u00a0litres<\/span> donnant une puissance de <span class=\"nowrap\">211\u00a0chevaux<\/span> en version atmosph\u00e9rique avec une culasse \u00e0 16 soupapes dans la 944 S2. Il y aura \u00e9galement une version turbo-compress\u00e9e, d\u00e9veloppant 220 puis <span class=\"nowrap\">250\u00a0chevaux<\/span>, avec la cylindr\u00e9e originelle de <span class=\"nowrap\">2,5\u00a0litres<\/span> et la distribution \u00e0 8 soupapes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1991, la 944 est remplac\u00e9e par la 968, construite sur la m\u00eame base mais dont l&rsquo;esth\u00e9tique a \u00e9t\u00e9 revue pour lui donner un air de famille avec la 928 et la future 911 de la s\u00e9rie 993 (qui sortira fin 1993).
